What Is a Water Softener and How Does It Work?

A water softener removes minerals such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals if not removed can cause a buildup in all your water using appliances and fixtures.

That white powder build up you see on your fixtures is the minerals. Once your water is softened you’ll no longer see this build up. You’ll clean less, and your appliances will last longer too.
